How to Charge Your RV Battery
02/07/12
Charging your RV's battery is a simple process.
Steps:
1. Run your RV engine for at least five minutes.
2. Remove RV battery caps and observe polarity.
3. Check that the lead plates are covered with electrolyte (battery acid).
4. Fill with distilled water as needed.
5. Connect your RV battery to a portable charging unit.
Tips:
Smart chargers that taper off RV charging as the battery fills are the best.
Warnings:
Electrolyte (battery acid) is corrosive to metal, skin and cloth. If spilled on skin or squirted into eyes, flush with baking soda and water to neutralize the acid and get immediate medical attention.
RV Batteries can give off explosive gases.
